This week's Round Up

The "Shakin' my head" stories
  • "Men, who needs them?" in the New York Times (here). I respect the biological perspective of the opinion piece but the beginning and ending seemed so out of touch with reality that it left me shaking my head. If this man had spent as much time as I have with single mothers who were just making it by, who made dinner every single night for their kids, who sacrificed more than this man will probably ever truly understand, he might have phrased this entire piece differently. If you want to be a single mother, that's totally cool. But, I don't think we will see a lot more women do this and I don't think he truly comprehends the consequences of being a single mother.
  • The DNC makes it difficult for female legislators to attend with their children. Here.
  • This story is just sad. "Going hungry in America: Distressing, humbling and scary" (here). I saw it a lot at my past job.
