Recycle the Knowledge

"Sorry, we can't take this book. A newer version just came out."

"Sorry, but I can't find an ISPN number on this."

"...and we're no longer taking these...."

*Sigh* "Okay. Thanks..."

"The good news is that we ARE taking this book...for 25 cents..."

---

This was part of the uplifting dialogue that I had yesterday with a salesperson at the Duquesne Bookstore.

Last year, I wrote about the problem of what to do with books that I can no longer sell (but don't really want). Someone left a message about Book 'Em. Book 'Em is a program that packages books and sends them to prisoners. The group meets every sunday from 3-8 PM and every third saturday of the month from 3-6 pm.

I'm going to head down there tomorrow to drop off some books from last year. I encourage others in the same position (Yes, I'm looking at you college kids!). Not only will it free up space in your living abode, but it will help out some other people.

Peace.
