I recently posted this youtube video. In the video, Luke tells the Mount Washington Democratic Committee that he could not attend their gathering because he was suddenly called to New York City that day (Monday, January 22nd) to discuss Penguins business.

Seeing as Luke doesn't have a pattern that I'd want to have to repeat in the confessional, I decided to see if Little Luke was telling the truth this time. He claimed to have been called away on Monday, January 22nd. However, the meeting he was alluding to was reported as January 18th. According to the Tribune-Review,

"Penguins co-owner Ronald Burkle met for almost two hours Thursday night (ThAT WAS THURSDAY JANUARY 18th!)
with Rendell, Allegheny County Chief Executive Dan Onorato, Mayor Luke
Ravenstahl and Detroit businessman Don Barden, who plans to open a North Shore
slots parlor in March 2008. Barden's company won state approval to build the
casino over Isle of Capri, which promised a new arena for its partner, the
Penguins, if it won."

Mario Lemieux was in Dallas on Monday, January 22nd, according to the Post-Gazette.

"Penguins owner Mario Lemieux, speaking yesterday at NHL All-Star Game festivities in Dallas, said that the team is unhappy with the state and local officials' proposal for a new arena."

The article goes on to say that no new talks are scheduled.

"No new talks have been scheduled, although the sides are still communicating and
exchanging information, a source said yesterday."

Where was Rendell on Monday, January 22nd? Rendell was in Latrobe on Monday, January 22nd, giving the Latrobe Brewery a financial package, as reported by the wonderful blog, PassMeABeer.com

"Where was Ron Burkle on Monday January 22nd?", you ask. Well, according to this starstruck PR blogger, he was partying it up in Utah at the Sundance Festival on Saturday, March 20th.

Posted Jan 22nd:

"Realizing only the next AM [Sunday morning, January 21st] that Ron Burkle had spent the night partying with us (You know it’s a great event when you are counting the amount of billionaires."

Let's put this together, shall we?

-Rendell was in town on Monday, Jan. 22nd. in Latrobe.

-Burkle could have possibly flown from the Sundance Festival on Sunday morning (Jan 21st) back to NYC by Sunday Night in his private jet (still Jan 21st). On the way there, he could have called Luke and told him to meet him in NYC the next day on Monday, Jan. 22nd. *Shrug*

-Lemieux was in Dallas on Monday, January 22nd.

-The only peice I don't know is where Onorato was. *shrug* It's possible.. ? Maybe? Eh, not so much.

Here are the options:

-Luke didn't feel like going to the Mount Washington Democratic Committee and just created a white lie.

-Luke did fly to NYC and meet with Burkle on Monday, Jan 22nd right after Burkle was in Utah.

-We know that Luke was in Pittsburgh on the 18th BEFORE going to NYC (I think) because he had to come clean about the handcuffs incident.

-He came back by the 19th to stop by a summit on race which he stayed at for a "few minutes".

Question: What happened between Saturday Night and Tuesday?
